How you can help

Hold her close and look at her as you talk. Babies love faces. Chat about what you are doing as you feed, change and bathe her. Sing to her. Copy the sounds she makes back to her.

Give her tummy time every day while she is awake. It builds the muscles in her neck and back.

Her checks

A health visitor sees you in the first 2 weeks. At 6 to 8 weeks, she has a full physical check, usually with a doctor. These are good times to share any worry.
