At night in a dim kitchen, a father with a tea towel over his shoulder warms a baby's bottle in a pan on the stove under a hanging lamp.

Veilleuse vs Baby Tracker (Nighp): which tracker should you pick?

Updated 12 October 20268 min read

For a family tracking feeds, sleep and nappies together, Veilleuse comes out ahead. There are no ads, you add things in seconds, you can ask about the baby's day, and every carer has their own account. Baby Tracker by Nighp leads on its free tier, growth charts and reports, and here is how the two compare.

We make Veilleuse, a baby tracker for iPhone, available now on the App Store. We tried to be fair to Baby Tracker - Newborn Log by Nighp: every price and feature of it below comes from its App Store listing, checked in October 2026.

The short answer

For a family sharing feeds, sleep and nappies, Veilleuse is the better Baby Tracker alternative. There are no ads. You add a feed, a nappy or a sleep with one tap, or say several in one sentence and check them before saving. You can ask "when was the last feed?" and get the answer from your own entries, use built-in Siri phrases with the phone locked, and give each carer their own account on one family subscription. Baby Tracker by Nighp is the better fit if you want all core tracking free with ads, or WHO growth charts and PDF reports.

Baby Tracker prices are from the US App Store, checked in October 2026. Veilleuse prices are US prices; local prices vary.

Veilleuse makes feeds, sleep and nappies quick to add

Both apps track feeds with side timers, bottles, pumping, sleep, nappies, growth and medicine. Veilleuse puts its effort into getting them in fast, sharing them, and answering questions about them.

One tap for most things. Each card on the Veilleuse Home screen has a +. It opens the form for that thing: a breastfeed (left, right or both), a bottle of formula, expressed milk or mixed, solids, a nappy, a sleep or pumping. Set the time, add a note if you like, and save. Every entry shows who added it.

Say several things in one go. Say or type one sentence, like "bottle of 120 ml at 2, wet nappy at 3, asleep at 3:30". Veilleuse turns it into draft cards, up to 8 from a sentence of up to 500 characters. You check every draft before anything is saved, then tap Save all.

Ask about the baby's day. Ask "when was the last poo?" or "how much did she drink yesterday?". You can ask for the last one, a count, a total time, a total amount or the latest growth measure, with up to 3 questions in one sentence. The answer is computed from your own entries, never guessed. Saying several things at once and asking questions are part of the Family plan.

Siri phrases that are ready to use. On iPhone with iOS 17 or later, say "Feeding on the left in Veilleuse", "Done feeding in Veilleuse", "Wet nappy in Veilleuse" or "Last poo in Veilleuse?". They work with the phone locked, in six languages, and Siri saves for the baby shown in the app.

Feed and sleep timers on the lock screen. A running sleep, breastfeed or pumping timer shows on the lock screen and in the Dynamic Island, with a Stop button on iOS 17 or later.

Every carer on their own account. The Family plan covers 3 babies and 3 people: you and two carers. Invite them with an 8-character code or a link. Everyone can add with the same rights, and each entry says who added it. Changes sync about every 30 seconds while the app is open.

No ads, ever. Veilleuse has no ads and no analytics. It sends crash reports, with no personal data in them, and nothing else.

What Baby Tracker (Nighp) does well

Baby Tracker - Newborn Log is the most-rated tracker on the App Store, with 4.8 stars from about 227,000 ratings. It has been around since 2014.

  • A generous free tier. All core tracking is free, with ads. Removing them costs $4.99 once.
  • Growth charts and reports. It has WHO growth charts and PDF and email reports. Veilleuse has neither.
  • Milk stock. Pumping comes with a milk stock, which Veilleuse does not track.
  • More devices. It runs on iOS, Android and Apple Watch, with widgets. Plus adds "What's Next" timing tips.

Free to start, then one plan for the whole family

Veilleuse is available now on iPhone. Logging one baby by hand is free, with timers, Siri and the lock screen timer, and no ads. The Family plan is $11.99 a month, with your first month at half price, or $79.99 a year for the whole family. The yearly plan works out to about $6.66 a month. It adds voice, questions, sleep prediction, sleep and nappy reminders, the week charts, and up to 3 babies and 3 people with their own accounts. The family shares 30 AI requests a day. See Veilleuse prices.

Baby Tracker by Nighp costs less than the Family plan. Core tracking is free, with ads. Remove Ads costs $4.99 once. Plus costs $5.99 a month or $49.99 a year, and removes ads and adds "What's Next" timing tips. These are prices on the US App Store, checked in October 2026.

By the year, the Family plan costs $30 more than Nighp's Plus. What the extra pays for is the way you add and share: several things in one sentence, questions answered from your own entries, and a separate account for each carer.

The Veilleuse home screen: time since the last feed, nappy, sleep and pumping, then today’s sleeps and feeds.

Home: how long since the last feed, nappy and sleep.

Veilleuse turning “She just had 120 ml of expressed milk and a wet nappy” into a bottle entry and a nappy entry.

Say it in one sentence. Check the entries, then save.

Asking Veilleuse “How long did Lou sleep today?” and the answer: 8 h 02 over 4 sleeps.

Ask a question. The answer comes from your own entries.

Why we think Veilleuse is the better choice for a family sharing feeds, sleep and nappies

  • Fast to add. A + on each Home card, or several things in one sentence, checked before saving.
  • Answers from your own day. Ask "when was the last feed?" and get an answer computed from your entries.
  • Siri that is ready to go. Built-in phrases work with the phone locked, and a running timer shows on the lock screen.
  • Every carer on their own account. Three people and three babies on one family plan, and each entry shows who added it.
  • No ads. No ads and no analytics, and crash reports carry no personal data.

Who should still pick Baby Tracker (Nighp)

Veilleuse has no WHO growth charts and no PDF reports, its free plan covers one baby, and it runs on iPhone alone. Baby Tracker by Nighp is the better pick if:

  • You want all core tracking for free, and ads do not bother you.
  • You want WHO growth charts, or PDF and email reports to share.
  • Someone in the family uses Android, or you want an Apple Watch app or widgets.
