For tracking feeds, sleep and nappies as a family, Veilleuse comes out ahead. You add them in seconds, ask about the baby's day and get answers from your own entries, and every carer has their own account on one subscription. Huckleberry leads on sleep plans, and here is how the two compare.
We make Veilleuse, a baby tracker for iPhone, available now on the App Store. We tried to be fair to Huckleberry: every Huckleberry price and feature below comes from its App Store listing or its own pages, checked in October 2026.
The short answer
For feeds, sleep and nappies shared with the family, Veilleuse is the better Huckleberry alternative. You add a feed, a nappy or a sleep with one tap, or say several in one sentence and check them before saving. You can ask "when was the last feed?" and get the answer from your own entries, use Siri with the phone locked and see a running timer on the lock screen. Each carer has their own account on one family subscription. Huckleberry is the better fit if you want a sleep plan or an Android app.

Veilleuse makes feeds, sleep and nappies quick to add
Most of the time, you tap. Each card on the Veilleuse Home screen has a +. It opens the form for that thing: a feed, a nappy, a sleep or a pumping session. Set the time, add a note if you like, and save. Every entry shows who added it.
Say several things in one go. When you have a lot to catch up on, say or type one sentence, like "bottle of 120 ml at 2, wet nappy at 3". Veilleuse turns it into draft cards, up to 8 from a sentence of up to 500 characters. You check every draft before it is saved, then tap Save all. With two babies, an entry can be saved for each.
Ask about the baby's day. Ask "when was the last feed?" or "how long did she sleep today?". You can ask for the last one, a count, a total time, a total amount or the latest growth measure. It works for today, yesterday, this week, this month and more, with up to 3 questions in one sentence. The AI works out what you asked. The answer is computed from your own entries, never guessed. Saying several things at once and asking questions are part of the Family plan.
Siri with the phone locked. On iPhone with iOS 17 or later, say "Feeding on the left in Veilleuse", "Wet nappy in Veilleuse" or "When was the last feed in Veilleuse?". It works with the phone locked, in six languages. Siri saves for the baby shown in the app.
Feed and sleep timers on the lock screen. Start a sleep, breastfeed or pumping timer. The running timer shows on the lock screen and in the Dynamic Island, with a Stop button on iOS 17 or later.
Home shows where the day stands. You see how long since the last feed and which side is next, plus the latest nappy, sleep and pumping. On the Family plan, the week view has one small chart per type, with daily averages. Tap a day to see everything in it.
Every carer on their own account. The Family plan covers 3 babies and 3 people: you and two carers. Invite them with an 8-character code or a link. Everyone can add with the same rights. Changes sync about every 30 seconds while the app is open, and entries made offline are sent later.
No ads, no analytics. Veilleuse sends crash reports, with no personal data in them, and nothing else.

What Huckleberry does well
Huckleberry is the famous sleep app. It has 4.9 stars from about 74,000 ratings on the App Store, says it serves "5+ million families", and is an Editors' Choice.
- Sleep predictions. SweetSpot predicts the baby's naps, on the Plus plan.
- Sleep plans and an AI chat. Premium adds sleep plans and Berry AI chat.
- More devices. Huckleberry runs on iOS, Android and Apple Watch, with widgets.
- A free tier. Basic logging and reports cost nothing. It also tracks milestones, which Veilleuse does not.
Free for one baby, one plan for the whole family
Veilleuse is available now on iPhone. Logging one baby by hand is free, with timers, Siri and the lock screen timer. The Family plan is $11.99 a month, with your first month at half price, or $79.99 a year for the whole family. The yearly plan works out to about $6.66 a month. It adds voice, questions, sleep prediction, sleep and nappy reminders, the week charts, and up to 3 babies and 3 people with their own accounts. The family shares 30 AI requests a day. There is no lifetime purchase. See Veilleuse prices.
Huckleberry has a free tier for basic logging and reports. Its AI logging needs a paid plan. Plus costs $11.99 a month or $68.99 a year and adds SweetSpot, Insights and AI logging. Premium costs $14.99 a month or $119.99 a year and adds sleep plans and Berry AI chat. Huckleberry offers a 2-week trial. These are prices on the US App Store, checked in October 2026. Some recent reviews mention more paywalls and upgrade pop-ups.
By the year, the Family plan costs $11 more than Huckleberry Plus and $40 less than Premium. For that, each carer gets their own account, and voice, questions, sleep prediction and reminders are all in the same plan.

Home: how long since the last feed, nappy and sleep.

Say it in one sentence. Check the entries, then save.

Ask a question. The answer comes from your own entries.
Why we think Veilleuse is the better choice for a family tracking feeds, sleep and nappies
- Fast to add. A + on each Home card, or several things in one sentence, checked before saving.
- Answers from your own day. Ask "when was the last feed?" and get an answer computed from your entries.
- Hands-free at night. Siri phrases that work with the phone locked, and a running timer on the lock screen.
- Every carer on their own account. Three people and three babies on one family plan, and each entry shows who added it.
- Nothing in the way. No ads and no analytics.
Who should still pick Huckleberry
Veilleuse has no sleep plans, does not track milestones and runs on iPhone alone. Huckleberry is the better pick if:
- You want a sleep plan for the baby, or SweetSpot's nap predictions.
- Someone in the family uses Android, or you want an Apple Watch app or home-screen widgets.
- You want free reports, or you want to track milestones.
