For tracking feeds, sleep and nappies, Veilleuse comes out ahead. You add them in seconds, ask about the baby's day and get answers from your own entries, and you can bring your Nara history with you. Nara Baby leads on devices, carers and a lifetime price, and here is how the two compare.
We make Veilleuse, a baby tracker for iPhone, available now on the App Store. We tried to be fair to Nara Baby: every Nara price and feature below comes from its App Store listing or its own FAQ, checked in October 2026.
The short answer
For feeds, sleep and nappies, Veilleuse is the better Nara Baby alternative. You add a feed, a nappy or a sleep with one tap, or say several in one sentence and check them before saving. You can ask "when was the last feed?" and get the answer from your own entries, and use Siri with the phone locked. Each carer has their own account on one family subscription, and your Nara history comes with you in a CSV file. Nara Baby is the better fit if you want to pay once, use Android or a Mac, or track pregnancy too.

Veilleuse makes feeds, sleep and nappies faster to add
Both apps track feeds, pumping, nappies, sleep, growth and medicine. The difference is how fast you get them in, and what you can ask afterwards.
One tap for most things. Each card on the Veilleuse Home screen has a +. It opens the form for that thing: a breastfeed (left, right or both), a bottle, solids, a nappy, a sleep or pumping. Set the time, add a note if you like, and save. Every entry shows who added it.
Say several things in one go. After a long night, say or type one sentence, like "fed on the left at 1, bottle of 90 ml at 4, dirty nappy at 5". Veilleuse turns it into draft cards, up to 8 from a sentence of up to 500 characters. You check every draft before anything is saved, then tap Save all.
Ask about the baby's day. Ask "how many wet nappies today?" or "how long did she sleep this week?". You can ask for the last one, a count, a total time, a total amount or the latest growth measure, with up to 3 questions in one sentence. The answer is computed from your own entries, never guessed. Saying several things at once and asking questions are part of the Family plan.
Siri with the phone locked. On iPhone with iOS 17 or later, say "She's asleep in Veilleuse", "Poo in Veilleuse" or "When was the last feed in Veilleuse?". Siri works with the phone locked, in six languages, and saves for the baby shown in the app.
Home shows the time since the last feed. It also shows which side is next, plus the latest nappy, sleep and pumping. On the Family plan, the week view has one small chart per type, with daily averages.
Every carer on their own account. The Family plan covers 3 babies and 3 people: you and two carers. Invite them with an 8-character code or a link. Everyone can add, and changes sync about every 30 seconds while the app is open.
Bring the baby's Nara history. Veilleuse imports your Nara Baby history from a CSV file, on the free plan too. The days you already tracked stay with you.
No ads, no analytics. Veilleuse sends crash reports, with no personal data in them, and nothing else.
What Nara Baby does well
Nara Baby is a calm, well-loved tracker. It has 4.9 stars from about 24,000 ratings on the App Store.
- Pregnancy, postpartum and baby in one app. Veilleuse starts once the baby is here.
- Unlimited carers and children. One payment covers them all. Veilleuse covers 3 people and 3 babies.
- More devices. Nara runs on iOS, Android, Apple Watch and Mac, with Live Activities.
- A lifetime price. You can pay $99.99 once. Veilleuse has no lifetime purchase.
It also tracks milestones and vaccines. Veilleuse tracks vaccines as a medicine entry, but not milestones.
Free to start, then one plan for the whole family
Veilleuse is available now on iPhone. Logging one baby by hand is free, with timers, Siri, the lock screen timer and the Nara import. The Family plan is $11.99 a month, with your first month at half price, or $79.99 a year for the whole family. The yearly plan works out to about $6.66 a month. It adds voice, questions, sleep prediction, sleep and nappy reminders, the week charts, and up to 3 babies and 3 people with their own accounts. The family shares 30 AI requests a day. See Veilleuse prices.
Nara Baby is no longer free. After a 7-day full trial, the app becomes read-only: you can view and export, but not add. Then it costs $9.99 a month or $99.99 lifetime, and promo prices also appear. These are prices on the US App Store, checked in October 2026. Some recent reviews regret the move to paid.
Month to month, Nara costs $2 less than the Family plan. By the year, the Family plan works out cheaper per month than Nara's monthly plan. If you want to pay once and never again, Nara's lifetime price is the better deal. If one parent logs one baby, Veilleuse's free plan costs nothing.

Home: how long since the last feed, nappy and sleep.

Growth, the family, and an invite for a carer.
Why we think Veilleuse is the better choice for tracking feeds, sleep and nappies
- Fast to add. A + on each Home card, or several things in one sentence, checked before saving.
- Answers from your own day. Ask "when was the last feed?" and get an answer computed from your entries.
- Hands-free at night. Siri phrases that work with the phone locked, and a running timer on the lock screen.
- Your Nara history comes too. Import it from a CSV file, on the free plan too.
- Nothing in the way. No ads and no analytics.
Who should still pick Nara Baby
Veilleuse runs on iPhone alone, covers 3 carers and has no lifetime price. Nara Baby is the better pick if:
- You want to pay once, or you need more than 3 carers or 3 babies.
- Someone in the family uses Android, or you want an Apple Watch or Mac app.
- You want to track pregnancy and postpartum in the same app.
