Veilleuse vs Sprout Baby: which baby tracker should you pick?

Updated 12 October 20267 min read

Veilleuse is the faster way to save feeds, sleep and nappies and share them with your partner. Sprout Baby is strong on growth charts and doctor visits. Here is how the two compare, and who each one suits.

We make Veilleuse, a baby tracker for iPhone, available now on the App Store. We tried to be fair to Sprout Baby: every Sprout Baby price and feature below comes from its App Store listing, checked in October 2026.

The short answer

For feeds, sleep and nappies shared with the family, Veilleuse is the better Sprout Baby alternative. You add things with a tap or say several in one sentence, ask “when was the last feed?” and get the answer from your own entries, use Siri with the phone locked, and see timers on the lock screen. Each carer has their own account on one family subscription. Sprout Baby is the better fit if growth charts and doctor visits are what you want to track.

Veilleuse: the feed, the nappy and the nap saved in seconds

Veilleuse is a baby tracker for iPhone, available now on the App Store. Its focus is the part you do many times a day: saving a feed, a nap or a nappy, and making sure your partner sees it.

Tap the + to add a feed or a nappy

Home has a card for each thing you track, and each card has a +. The feed card saves a breastfeed (left, right or both, with an optional timer), a bottle (formula, expressed milk or mixed, in ml or oz) or solids. The nappy card saves wet, dirty, both or dry. Sleep, pumping, baths, growth and medicine have their own cards. This is how most things get added.

Say the bottle and the nappy in one sentence

After a busy hour, say or type one sentence, like “bottle of 90 ml at 2, wet nappy at 3, and she fell asleep at 3:30”. Veilleuse turns it into up to 8 draft cards. You check them, then tap Save all. Other apps now log by voice too. The help here is saving several things in one go and checking every card before it is saved. Voice is part of the Family plan.

Ask when the baby last fed

Ask in a sentence: the last feed, how many nappies today, how long she slept this week, how much milk this month. You can ask up to 3 questions at once. Asking is part of the Family plan. The AI only works out what you asked. The answer is computed from your own entries, never guessed. In the first weeks, when your midwife asks how often the baby feeds, you have a real number. Our guide on how often a newborn should feed explains what they look for.

Start a feed with Siri, with the phone locked

On iOS 17 or later, Siri works with the phone locked, in six languages. “Feeding on the left in Veilleuse” starts a breastfeed. “Done feeding in Veilleuse” stops it. “Last poo in Veilleuse?” tells you when. “Undo that in Veilleuse” is there if Siri got it wrong. A running timer shows on the lock screen and in the Dynamic Island, with a Stop button on iOS 17 or later.

The grandparents’ bottles show on your phone

On the Family plan, each carer has their own account. The owner invites the others with an 8-character code or a link, valid for 7 days. The Family plan covers three people and up to three babies. Changes sync about every 30 seconds while the app is open, and every entry shows who added it. When the grandparents take the afternoon, you see every bottle they gave.

Feeds, sleep and nappies for the week

On the Family plan, the week view shows sleep hours, feeds, nappies split wet and dirty, pumped ml and baths, one small chart each, with daily averages. Tap a day to see everything in it.

What Sprout Baby does well

Sprout Baby, by Med ART Studios, is a broad tracker with 4.8 stars from about 31,500 ratings on the US App Store.

  • Growth charts. It plots growth on WHO and CDC charts. Veilleuse shows small trend lines, not percentile charts.
  • Doctor visits and immunisations. It keeps doctor visits, immunisations and meds in one place.
  • Sleep Forecast. It forecasts sleep.
  • More devices. It runs on iPhone, Android and Apple Watch, with Live Activities and Siri Shortcuts.

Price: what your family gets

Veilleuse is free to start: one baby by hand, with timers, Siri and the lock screen timer. The Family plan is $11.99 a month, with your first month at half price, or $79.99 a year (about $6.66 a month) for the whole family. That covers three people, each on their own account, and up to three babies. There are no ads. Voice, questions, sleep prediction and reminders are all in the Family plan, with up to 30 AI requests a day shared by the family.

Sprout Baby has a limited free tier. Its paid plans are $5.99 a week, $14.99 to $19.99 a month, or $59.99 a year on the US App Store, checked in October 2026. So per year, Sprout Baby costs less. Per month, the Family plan costs less than Sprout’s monthly plans and covers the whole family.

Why we think Veilleuse is the better choice for daily tracking

  • Faster adding. A + on each card, or several things in one sentence, checked before saving.
  • Answers from your own entries. Ask when the last feed was or how long she slept, and get a number.
  • Siri with the phone locked. Start a feed, save a nappy or undo a mistake without unlocking.
  • Every carer on their own account. Three people and three babies on one family subscription.
  • No ads, free to start. One baby is free, and the Family plan adds the rest for the whole family.

Who should still pick Sprout Baby

  • You want WHO or CDC growth charts and a record of doctor visits and immunisations.
  • Someone in the family uses Android or an Apple Watch.
